      <image:caption>When going up stairs, we can train ourselves to move partially in the lateral plane, rather than only the sagittal plane to take further stress off the knees. Put simply, we can let our body side bend help us ascend to the next step. This is a difficult concept to describe that must be felt in the body to understand. One way to think about it is relating the action to pushing down on a trash can pedal to lift the trash can lid. If the right foot presses down on the step, the left side of the pelvis will lift up, bringing the left leg to the next step. In this case, the right foot would be pressing on the imaginary trash can pedal and the left side of the pelvis would be the lid. This action is accomplished mainly by the gluteus medius as well as the quadratus lumborum, which are muscles on the side of the pelvis and abdomen.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Jacob Tyson, DPT, Owner Jacob Tyson is a physical therapist and yoga teacher from Chapel Hill, NC. He is passionate about integrating mindful movement and other wellness practices with traditional physical therapy to provide holistic health solutions. His clinical interests include: chronic musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain and chronic stress, neurological and balance disorders, lifestyle diseases, exercise-related injuries, and preventive care to optimize health over the long term. Jacob obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia with a focus in neuroscience, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UNC-Chapel Hill. In addition, he completed a yoga teacher training as well as mentorship in the Feldenkrais method. He also enjoys hiking, reading, traveling with his husband, trying new recipes, and playing with his kitties.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Rachel Zingone, Office Manager In addition to managing the administrative side of the Wellness Station, Rachel has been operating her own alternative healing practice since 2014.  With over 10 years experience as a clinical herbalist, Rachel helps people to discover natural ways to maintain and regain their health. As a consulting hypnotist specializing in medical concerns and health issues, Rachel works to help people increase healing time as well as increase pain thresholds reducing the needs for medications. Rachel is also trained in Reiki as a method for stress reduction, nervous system regulation and for increased healing in long term and chronic ailments.</image:caption>
